I mean does it mean relationship to where things are getting serious or just getting to know each other? If so does that leave room to see other people? I dont know.

I am told this all of the time by my friend’s girlfriend, and whenever I ask her why she only goes to church when she’s with her family, she says it’s because she likes to go with her family. So I ask, “What if your boyfriend would only hang out with you when he’s with his family, or only when he’s with me? Would you call that a personal relationship?”
I think it’s a valid question. What do you think?

Question by Chris D: Is it appropriate to go to a Psychologist when dealing with “relationship” problems?
I’m stuck in a very messy relationship deal where my EX GF still loves me and wants to be with me but she loves her current BF also and doesn’t want to leave him. My main question – is it appropriate to go to a Psychologist at the current time? I’ve never been to one and I know my emotions are heightened because of this situation, but I feel like I am now inside depression. All I can do is wait around until she decides who she wants to be with and the waiting/ not knowing is emotionally killing me. While it’s NOT life threatening, it has been effecting everything in my life.
I’m not sure if a Psychologist is the appropriate person to visit to help with my depression (if I have any at all) and to help me move on with my life.
I should also note that the reason why I choose to stay and wait is because I also feel I have some type of social anxiety disorder. I don’t mind the crowds, but it’s the actual interaction with people that I am terrible at. Thus, I’m not a “ladies man”. My self image and confidence are through the roof but when you stick me in a social setting, I completely crack. I feel in a way that I’d much rather fall back on her because it is a safer choice for me since I am already comfortable with her (but I still know I love her for her). Simply “leaving” her is impossible right now and I’m not sure if a Psychologist is someone who can make it possible for me. If it is…then that is what I want. However, I fear that waltzing into a Psychologist’s office might not be appropriate. Not that any Psychologist would ever ridicule me, I just feel like there are those that visit a Psychologist with “REAL” disorders and I’m some punk that just needs to “get over it”. Not sure what to do.

You don’t need a pschiatrist. You need a new GF.
Don’t hang around someone who can’t make up their mind dude. She’s just using you to keep you around as a backup. Find someone who CAN decide that you are right for them.
Do it and you’ll find that your life will be back in order in no time.
